Happy Chinese New Year!!!

Mommy took me to the library Saturday to see a presentation on the Chinese New Year. I loved it. There was dancing and music playing. There were a lot of other kids there too. Mommy and I made me a rat hat and I danced in the Dragon parade. This is the Year of the Rat for the Chinese. The rat is supposed to symbolize protection and material prosperity. It makes me wonder why everyone is so afraid of rats. Anyway, I really liked the library and I think Mommy did too. There were lots and lots of books. There was a beautiful aquarium that Mommy let me see. After the Dragon dance Mommy read a me a few books on the nice comfy couch. I can't wait to go back to the library. I had a really good time.

This girl was an exchange student from China doing the traditional paper cutting dance. There were other dances too but the camera batteries died.

All of the exchange students playing traditional Chinese instruments.

Check out my Rat Hat!!
