My first Christmas

Mommy has been telling me about this day for a couple of weeks now. She told me that I would get some gifts but she also told me that it was the day Jesus was born. Mommy said he is the real reason for this day and that it was very important that I knew that.

Christmas Eve was Mommy's birthday. We didn't do much but run some errands. Mommy said that I was the best gift she could have ever received. That night we made cookies for someone named Santa. Mommy told me that he was the man that would come down the chimney and bring me a gift. She said that it would be nice if we left him snack. We made turtle cookies and put them and a glass of milk on the mantel for him. Earlier that day we stopped at the grocery store and picked up some carrots for Santa's reindeer. Mommy said that they do a lot of work too...helping Santa deliver all of the gifts to little boys and girls around the world. We forgot to put out the carrots for the reindeer so I hope they weren't disappointed. Before we went to bed Mommy let me open one of my gifts. Inside of the box was some pretty red pajamas that said Baby's First Christmas. I was able to wear them to bed. Mommy says she'll always let me open one of my gifts the night before. I have a funny feeling it will always be pajamas.

When I woke up the next day Mommy was already awake. She was cleaning the house because we were having company. When she saw that I was awake she told me that it was Christmas but I couldn't open any gifts until the rest of the family arrived. I could tell Mommy was really excited. She put me on another red outfit that said Baby's First Christmas. I liked it better than the other one because it had cute little feet. Everyone trickled in throughout the day. I did my usual thing of being really picky with the people that I wanted to hold me. Mommy says she hopes that this stage will pass soon. Anyway, it was time to open my gifts. Everyone was standing around me and Mommy was sitting next to me on the floor helping me open them. I received a lot of really nice things. Aunt Vonnie got me a TMX Elmo and that thing was kinda scary. It started laughing and falling on the floor. It flipped over and stood back up. Everyone was amazed. I don't think Aunt Vonnie expected it to do all of that. Santa brought me a walker. I got lots of clothes because I grow out of them so fast. I also got a V-Smile Baby and Baby Einstein videos because Mommy and Aunt Vonnie wants me to be smart. It was a great day! I'm so glad I got to spend it with my family and I look forward to many more.

Your Mommy is right, You are the best gift! It was so much fun watching you.
Sorry about Elmo, but I think we just have to get used to him, but he was a tad creepy =).
I love you Bubblegum!
